The Truth About Hate And Crime
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/magaz
The purpose of this documentary is to mainly to get the message about discrimination and hate crimes going on in the uk and the topic is about how a polish family has been getting attacked.they then produced this on the bbc platform reason being because to reassure the viewers whats going on and also counts as for educational purposes, furthermore this is targeted for young adults so for example 16 +.
The values of kamil was clearly stated in the documentary because the point of it was about hate crimes and discrimination and how it effects the family that going through these things this then helps us get a better understanding and how they feel from there point of view , this documentary also give different aspects and opinion from others and while they are give these opinions when the woman is interviewing them whilst being in the seen.this documentary is kind of like a observational documentary due to the fact that they have been in their home and must of spent a lot of time with them also to get the understanding on how they are living.
The format was combined with interviews and reportage and in this documentary to be successful they had to the use actuality footage once again to then my the target of the audience to have a better understanding. the narration that was going on was an seen presenter and the presenters mode of address was a formal tone however the 'casr' were not as formal on the other hand.
The platform that this documentary is broadcasted on is the BBC and their websites. This is more effective because the bbc is world wide and its controlled by the government therefore you know what they show will be either educational and trustworthy and also reliable,as i said its world wide it would get more viewers this then will link back to the purpose which could also say to make awareness of the subject: the truth about the hate crimes.
Some good analysis and you have thought about techniques used. You could use more examples from the documentary. You need to think more specifically about bias and objectivity. Vanessa
