narrative theory
Prison Break
The time and location started off
at a tattoo place then later on at a bank
There was also jump put involved
for example at the tattoo place it jumped to the bank then from the prison to Michael’s
lawyers
The used flash-forward to then
enter the next scene with non-diegetic sound
There is also a use of flash back
when Michael went to visit his brother in jail so before he went in.
Genre – action/drama
Helper/ the good guy – Michaels
cell mate
Villain –the government
Flash back- it then helps us establish and give us an better
understanding to whats going on { when
he sees his brother in prison he get a flashback from when he visited }
Time and space- the location was based in the tattoo place then continue later on
in the bank the time carried out was based mid day- it also jumped within scene
and also in flashback
Editing and non-linear narratives:- its none linear because its all over the place due to the fact
of the lash back and there’s also flash backs from other peoples past
Characters - Michael scofeild ( main character, hero ),liken ( micheal
brother- victim ), Sara Tancredi ( the nurse- the
helper ) Benjamin Miles(helper ), L.J. Burrows
( likens son), Veronica Donovan ( the lawyer-
the helper ), John Abruzzi ( the villain)
Cliff-hanger – when he showed hes tattoos it went through transformation showing the inside of
the prison then it zoomed out of the prison leaving it as a cliff-hanger
Serial format – it’s a series
Chronology- its not in order only at the beginning and it starts of but
towards it just gets messy as it includes the past using flash back
Concurrent / parallel – the episode
is parallel narrative because when Michael was in prison, lincon was getting
his tattoo. It shows to different side of the episode at the same time
