Non Linear Narratives
• Chronology- The arrangement of events or dates in the order of their occurrence
• Concurrent / parallel narratives - operating or occurring at the same time
• Flashback / Flashforward - when you go back on a past event or event that is yet to come
• Time and space -location its based and time
• Serial format - a serial has a continuing plot that unfolds in a sequential episode-by-episode fashion
• Cliffhangers - a cliff-hanger is when a story is ended before the end of the story(eastenders)
• Editing and non-linear narratives: continuity v dis-continuity- the scene if following as normal (prison break) lots of flash back but its continues as a hole but in each episode there's discontinuity

• Use of a narrator as a piece to camera, voice over, caption -the narrator
• Subjective / objective- based on personal opinion ,so you then have an objective view
• Mode of address / tone -how you would have the media text delivered

• Sub –genres- action ,horror ,romance ,fantasy,si-fi, thriller
• Cross genre products when they mix different genres together
• Role for the audience - consuming it
• Role for the producer - they determine what get shot ,the cliffhangers,target audience
